The Early Show featured a story of Alex and her lemonade stand.
Alex was diagnosed with neuroblastoma, a form of cancer, a few days before her first birthday. The doctors told her parents that she'd never walk; but she fought and walked! Alex lived all her life fighing; fighting cancer, fighting to live for another day. Alex even fought for other kids with cancer by selling lemonade and donating the earning to Pediatric Cancer Research.
Her goal for this year was to raise $1 million, and it was reported that her goal was met. Unfortunately, she didn't live long enough to see the fruits of her endeavor. Prior to her passing, Alex told her brother that she wanted to raise $1 gazillion. But when she was told that no such number exist, she said she will raise $5 million instead for next year.
